Network Hardware | Print |

We deliver best-of-breed computer and networking gear. Whether you require components for a specific need or for part of a large scale implementation, we will work with you to acquire the hardware you need.

Critical network components include:

  • Servers: A local area network (LAN) server is a program (and by implication usually the computer it runs in) that "serves" the resources (files, storage, application programs, printers, and other devices) for a number of attached workstations. We can configure and implement servers for your general networking needs, as well as servers for task specific functions.

  • Workstations/PCs: In addition to servers, we offer private branded and major brand PCs and laptops. Typically, we offer these as part of a network implementation or for existing customers in need of additional units.

  • Routers, Switches, Hubs, Gateways and Bridges: These are all common terms for various types of networking gear. They often have overlapping functionality and many times certain aspects of one component are also found in another.

The bottom line is that these components are the point where different parts of the network are connected and data packets of the network are directed, or routed, to another destination on the network, as well as control the inbound and outbound flow of data outside the network to the Internet, Wide Area Network, or a separate, but connected, Local Area Network.

  • Firewalls: If your network is connected to the Internet you must take the necessary steps to protect your network, as well as its components and data. Firewalls play a major role in this protection. Depending on your need, you may choose to purchase a hardware or software firewall from your network integrator, or use a firewall provided by your Internet Service Provider (see Internet Security for more information about ISP solutions).

  • Cabling: Even when implementing wireless solutions, cabling is required to connect the various components of a network. We offer a full service offering for Voice & Data Cabling.

  • Hardware and Cable Management Equipment: To keep everything safe and organized, even a small network requires some equipment to manage various components and cabling elements. We offer a full line of racks, cabinets, patch panels and cable management equipment to satisfy even the highest standards. More information about this type of equipment can also be found in the Voice & Data Cabling section.

  • Power Systems: To keep everything running smoothly and prevent system damage or data loss, it is crucial to have a plan for power management. We offer a full line of surge protection and uninterruptible power systems (UPS) equipment to protect individual components or entire networks.
