Data Services also known as Wide Area Network (WAN) Services come in many flavors. If you have more than one location, each with a computer network, and you need to connect each location's network, you are trying to create a WAN, or Wide Area Network. BMG Communications works with companies of all sizes and geographic locations to assist them with their Wide Area Networking needs. We work with regional, national and global carriers to determine which solutions are truly the best fit for our clients. Every carrier will tell you they can provision your service for you, and they may be able to, but it's not one size fits all. We can assist you in creating any type of WAN, but the main types of networks we will discuss here include: Contact BMG Communications to schedule a free consultation, or if you know what you're looking for, submit and online Quote Request. For information on the most common types of Wide Area Networks we provide through our partners, review the following: Private Line (Point-to-Point):One of the first platforms for tying multiple networks together, Private Lines are still considered one of the most simple and secure ways to create a WAN. We deliver the most competitive pricing in the industry, and therefore, we are able to cost justify many applications for Private Lines. Frame-Relay:An established technology, Frame Relay allows for more efficient use of carrier networks, therefore the carrier is able to provision circuits at less cost than Private Lines. Some savings is then passed on to the client. This is most noticeable when a customer has many locations or the locations are spread across great distances. ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode):Like Frame-Relay, ATM is another form of a Wide Area Network that utilizes some shared resources within a carrier's network. ATM, or Asynchronous Transfer Mode, is commonly used at the heart of large carriers' networks. They use it to efficiently manage all the data flowing from one point to another. Many carriers have developed ATM as a product to deliver to end user customers. Learn more about our ATM services or contact us today for a free consultation. Already interested in our ATM options? IP-VPN (Internet Protocol-Virtual Private Network):Although we also list IP-VPN under our Internet Services section, it is very relevant to Data Services as well. Many carriers consider IP-VPN more of a data product than an Internet product. Really, it's both. The fact that it runs over an IP (Internet Protocol) network is useful because, if proportioned properly, one can use the connection for other Internet traffic. However, the VPN, or Virtual Private Network, part of the equation is what makes it a data service. Regardless of the medium it travels, it is creating a path for multiple locations and users to connect on a secure virtual network. Whether you want to connect multiple locations, or to allow corporate access to remote users, you'll need a secure and reliable solution. We offer managed services through certain carriers that can be deployed across their entire footprint, as well as offering hardware and software solutions in our region through local integrators. No matter what type of Wide Area Network suits your needs, you should know that BMG Communications has the connections to get your network set up the right way the first time, because we know the strengths of the different carriers for various services. For example, here in the US, the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs), are often a strong competitor for networks within a given city, if you were to have two or more locations within the same area. They control most of the "last mile" to the customer premises, which enables them to provision the circuits more efficiently. Similarly, if a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier, or CLEC, is very strong in an area, and has data capability, then they too may be an excellent choice for building your WAN. Even in this simple scenario, the best solution may not lie on the surface.
Additionally, if you have locations throughout a given region, across the nation, or around the globe, it may be even more challenging to uncover the best solution. Depending on how each individual carrier's network is built, one carrier may have a significant advantage over another, either in performance or in price. For example, the more a carrier has to utilize other carriers' facilities, or facilities they are leasing from someone else, this may affect performance as additional points of congestion; or it may affect price, as they are potentially paying more to deliver that service to the client.
BMG Communications is committed to helping our clients Build, Manage and Grow their business and network communications. We will work with you to understand your existing network and future plans. We will consult with our many partners and service providers, including the Bell companies, CLECs and global carriers, to determine which carrier(s) to request proposals from, and present you with the most competitive pricing, and highest level of performance for your needs.
